A Prefeitura de São Carlos realizou, na última terça-feira (19), uma operação integrada com a Vigilância Sanitária (VISAM), o Departamento de Fiscalização e a Guarda Municipal para coibir a venda de cigarros eletrônicos, como vaper, e-cigarette e essências líquidas. A comercialização desses produtos é proibida no Brasil pela Anvisa.

Um Projeto de Lei (PL) que proíbe o uso e a venda de cigarros eletrônicos, conhecidos popularmente como vapers, foi aprovado nesta terça-feira (13) por deputados estaduais, na Assembleia Legislativa do Pará (Alepa), em Belém. O documento prevê uma multa no valor de R$ 1.144,55 para quem descumprir a lei. O PL segue agora para a sanção do governo do estado para então começar a valer. O governador Helder Barbalho (MDB) tem em torno 30 dias para aprovação.

A Convenção-Quadro para o Controle do Tabaco (CQCT) nasceu a partir de evidências de que o crescimento do mercado mundial dos produtos de tabaco, como resultado da liberalização do comércio e do investimento do capital estrangeiro direto, trouxe uma séria ameaça à saúde pública global. Essa ameaça tem sido potencializada por estratégias de grandes companhias transnacionais de tabaco para se inserirem em economias de mercado emergentes, bem como por desafios transfronteiriços, tais como a propaganda e o marketing de caráter universal, o comércio pela internet e o mercado ilegal de produtos de tabaco.
